1930s Bauhaus Industrial pendant lights designed by Hin Bredendieck for Kandem - Körting & Mathiesen Leipzig.

Dark steel gallerys with white Opaline glass diffuser, in amazing condition. These lights use E27 fitting screw in bulbs, they all come supplied with an E27 LED light bulb.

Cleaned, rewired & PAT tested safe & ready to go. Rewired using 100cm of black braided cable & comes with matching ceiling hook.

German lighting company Kandem is the oldest lighting brand in Germany, producing lighting for 133 years. It was founded in Leipzig in 1889. Kandem worked closely with the Bauhaus school, buying & producing many of the designs of the schools students. Most famously the work of one of Bauhaus's most renowned students & designers Marianne Brandt. Marianne Brandt was the designer of so many everyday items most notably the iconic Kandem Desk Lamp. Kandem & Bauhaus parted ways in 1933 with the rise to power of the Nazi party the Bauhaus school was closed, Kandem continued producing the lamps which are accepted as ground breaking in the history of design.

Many of the items we have for sale are all from what we refer to as " Real Life ", they were all made for use & purpose. There will always be signs of use & aging which we think gives each item its individuality & personal charm. We clean & repair but we always try our best to keep everything in its original state. We will always give you a good idea of condition & especially highlight anything that we consider may have aesthetic or structural concern.
